The Bolton Astronomical Society is a local group of enthusiasts, spanning a wide range of ages and experience. The Society hosts a series of Tuesday evening meetings throughout year, including presentations by Society members or visiting guest speakers (often from local Universities). We also hold extra observing sessions and group events throughout the year. Membership is open to all, and costs £20 annually (£10 for concessions). Bolton at Home's Percent for Art team comprises four Housing Arts Officers based in the organisation's Community Investment Team. We work with others to develop arts projects that help to improve communities in Bolton and benefit our customers. We contract appropriate artists or arts organisations, and manage the project from start to finish. The service actively encourages individuals and community groups to get involved in schemes that offer creative solutions to neighbourhood issues. Bolton Baton Twirlers are Bolton's only baton twirling club. Training members in baton twirling, combining gymnastics, dance and baton, we structure performances to each athletes ability. We train members from 2 years old and train girls and boys. We have been successful enough to have athletes compete at events, competitions and even with the England Baton Twirling Team. We train twice a week, Monday and Wednesday evenings, there are classes to suit all ages! BLISS provides support and care to families of premature and sick babies. The Bolton Bliss support group is a very active support group with great links to the local NICU (neonatal intensive-care unit). Mark and Sarah organise meetings as well as family days. Bolton Boccia Club started on 6th September 2024 and is open to adults with a physical disability within Bolton. Sessions are being held at Horwich Leisure Centre BL6 5PY Each session is £5.00 a session with the first session FREE! Bolton Boccia Club is affliated to Boccia England. The sessions are run by a qualified Boccia coach, referee and safeguard certificated also DBS. We provide Scouting at a variety of venues on different evenings throughout the Bolton borough. It is for young people age 6 to 18 years of age and we welcome adult volunteers to assist running meetings and in administrative roles as well. We provide the young people with opportunities to learn new skills, engage in the community, become independent, team-building, trying out adventurous activities, enjoying the outdoors amongst other things. We are affiliated to both Lancashire County FA and the WFA, whose insurance covers our activities. In September 2012, we were awarded the FA Charter Standard Club status.We offer training sessions for beginners and those who want to play recreationally.
