To improve the lives of the people of Bolton, strengthen community spirit, and prove that beautiful historical buildings can be of use once more, saving themselves from decay and demolition in the process. We want to create a unique programme of events and activities that will draw people from all around Bolton and beyond to a building of national importance which was once at the centre of a community. The World Famous Besses Boys' Band is a Second section graded North West Area brass band formed in 1943. Based in Simister, Manchester we are a local brass band providing music services to the local community and beyond for 75 years. We have performed throughout Great Britain, Europe and Australia. We have performed to high class figures, celebrities and her majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Bolton and District Round Table are part of a National organisation that promotes fun, friendship and networking opportunities for young men aged 18-45. We organise events and activities throughout the year that include walks, curry nights, visits to sporting events as well as taking part in fundraising activities that enable us to distribute monies raised to local community projects and organisations. We are an arts group that was set up to provide a place for people to practice art, especially those who had mental health issues, disabilities and illness. We are open to members of the wider community and have many professionally qualified artists in a magnitude of disciplines. We are open 10am until 10pm for the artists and hold at least 4 exhibitions a year. There is a workshop for hire, a kiln and studios for hire. Bolton at Home's Percent for Art team comprises four Housing Arts Officers based in the organisation's Community Investment Team. We work with others to develop arts projects that help to improve communities in Bolton and benefit our customers. We contract appropriate artists or arts organisations, and manage the project from start to finish. The service actively encourages individuals and community groups to get involved in schemes that offer creative solutions to neighbourhood issues.
