SNUFS is a Local Voluntary Organisation which supports pre school children, aged between two and five years who have additional support needs. Our Volunteers support on a 1-1 basis in mainstream childcare settings across the Borough. Children are referred to the organisation if it is felt that extra support would help them to integrate fully and benefit from all the experiences offered within their local pre-school setting. We aim to create age friendly communities and generate ways to create stronger community connections for people over 50. Beanstalk trains and places volunteers in local primary schools to work with 6-11 year olds. They work with the same three children each week during term time to improve reading ability, social skills and confidence. One and a half hours commitment twice a week is essential and we ask that you commit to a minimum of 12 months. FURNITURE - We collect donations of unwanted, reusable furniture & white goods from the Bolton area. We sell these donated items, alongside new goods, at our low-cost showrooms at Lecturers Close (behind Sainsbury's), Bolton BL3 6DG and 139-141 Market Street, Farnworth BL4 8EX. TRANSPORT - Our fleet of minibuses provides low-cost, door-to-door and wheelchair accessible travel for the disabled, community organisations and other individuals and groups.
