Bolton Mencap Learning Disability Project
We provide work placements with work related educational classes for learning disabled adults, learning at a level that is related to his or her ability with qualified teachers and trained support staff. The project provides learning disabled with work experience and life skills through the selling of donated used goods.
Life skills are not always taught directly but often learned indirectly through experience and practice. At the project skills are taught that are relevant to each student. Socialisation is also a big part of the students learning curve.
The students are introduced to many different environments; one of the most enjoyable is our weekly lunch out at one of the many cafe or restaurants in Bolton.
We ask for a minimum of two days attendance. There is a weekly cost - but you may get financial help from Direct Payments.
The charge is equated to the students needs. It is from £17 a day.
