Sports and Spinal Injuries Clinic University of Bolton

The Sports and Spinal Injuries Clinic (SSIC) at the University of Bolton provides physiotherapy and Sports Rehabilitation to patients from the university and local community. It is a teaching clinic where students of the Sports Rehabilitation degree get hands-on experience. All assessments and treatments of musculoskeletal injuries are provided by fully qualified and experienced physiotherapists and sports rehabilitators. The SSIC is recognized by many insurance companies, including BUPA as a physiotherapy provider.

Our Philosophy is to assess and treat musculoskeletal injuries using current and evidenced treatment techniques. We aim to ensure our patients can manage their conditions, return to their full activity potential at an appropriate time, and prevent re-occurrence of injury. Where the condition is beyond our scope of practice we aim to direct patients to the most appropriate health professional in the shortest time possible.

Our services include Assessments and treatment of injuries/musculoskeletal conditions, and Sports Massage. Hydrotherapy and Pilates classes are available on the recommendation of the therapist. In the Athlete Development Centre we also have some of the most advanced techniques for physiological and biomechanical assessment.
