Heartlift

We feel very passionately about the fact that everyone can be part of Heartlift and our activities. We consistently work with young people with disabilities offering support to both the child and the families. In 2007 we organised the National Schools Championships and saw the introduction of our special schools. In Oct 2008 we worked alongside Bolton Council “Short Breaks”.  To both the children and their families our ‘buddying scheme’ has proven extremely successful and not only helps towards full integration but also continued friendships.  We continually work with local schools and care services to deliver a wide range of activities and ensure that everyone can have fun and be involved.  Inclusion is so important and the need to remove preconceived ideas of what can and cannot be done.  We were delighted to see the opinions of people change as they progressed in the activities we introduced. We see the child, not the title that society has placed on them.

We specifically cater for and offer alternative provision to young people with additional needs within term time and take referrals from schools, social services and other professionals, enabling us to support vulnerable young people with a variety of emotional and behavioural difficulties through tough times.
