The Speech and Language Therapy Service will assess, diagnose and develop an individualised programme of care to maximise the communication potential of the children and young people referred to them and under their care. The work involves direct contact with children and young people with communication difficulties as well as their carers and other key people in their lives. Therapists also support children and young people with swallowing, eating and drinking difficulties. Birtenshaw's hydrotherapy suite is part of a new multi million pound development in the Bromley Cross area of Bolton. The hydrotherapy suite boasts a lovely 9x4m pool heated to 32c, offering disabled access, changing and state of the art equipment. Water Babies manage the pool and the timetable, and are now taking bookings from external providers i.e aquanatal, aqua aerobics, 1-2-1 swim coaching and so on. ***FREE Family Sign Language *** courses for families with D/deaf children under the age of 7. Deafserv Ltd can refer families to Bolton Council who will assist in an application for funding, once the funding is received we can run the course in the service users own home. All family members are welcome (as are friends) as long as those learning Sign Language will be of benefit to the D/deaf child.
